Vietnam Enhances Transport Safety Measures Ahead of Holidays

Post by : Shakul

In anticipation of the Hung Kings Commemoration Day and the April 30–May 1 holiday weekend in 2026, Vietnam's Government has mandated enhanced transportation services and rigorous traffic safety protocols.

The directive, issued by Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc, addresses the anticipated rise in travel demand, which poses risks of congestion and accidents.

Local authorities have been tasked with boosting capacity across all transportation modes—road, rail, air, and waterways—to ensure safe and convenient travel during this busy period.

The government is also prioritizing strict adherence to traffic regulations, urging police to increase patrols and take action against prevalent infractions, such as speeding and reckless driving.

Ministries and local governments will be closely monitoring transport fares, ensuring fair pricing amidst fuel fluctuations to maintain transparency for passengers.

Collaboration between transport agencies and local authorities will be key in alleviating traffic congestion and ensuring seamless access to transport hubs like airports and railway stations.

The Ministry of Health has been assigned to ensure that emergency services, including medical teams and equipment, are prepared to respond efficiently to any incidents during the holidays.

Authorities will enhance public awareness on traffic safety, promoting responsible driving behavior among the populace and providing timely updates regarding traffic conditions and hazards.

Hotline numbers will be available for reporting issues, with agencies operating continuously to oversee transportation during the holiday season.
