Sharjah Hosts 6th Women in Technology Forum 2025

The 6th edition of the Women in Technology Forum began in Sharjah under the theme “Future Lifestyles,” organized by Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SPARK). The event attracted leading female leaders, tech experts, and young entrepreneurs from across the world. Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of SPARK, inaugurated the forum, highlighting the vital role women play in driving innovation, social development, and progress in science and technology. She emphasized that women’s long-term strategic thinking combined with modern technologies can create smarter, healthier, and more resilient societies.

Focus on Female Leadership in Innovation

Sheikha Bodour called for enhanced female participation in emerging technology fields, urging that women take a central role in shaping the technological future. She noted that women have historically contributed significantly to sectors such as health, education, and community care. “This is an age of transformation. Women must be central to shaping our technological future,” she said, encouraging global action to empower women innovators.

Program Highlights

The forum featured keynote speeches, panel discussions, and interactive workshops covering diverse topics. Sessions focused on health technologies, longevity innovations, artificial intelligence, robotics, sustainability, and smart lifestyles. A CEOs’ panel explored policies to strengthen women’s influence in technology leadership. Additionally, a youth session organized by the Sharjah Youth Council offered young participants a platform to present their ideas and innovations.

Government Support for Women in Technology

Ohood Khalfan Al Roumi, UAE Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, highlighted how technological development improves quality of life. She emphasized that technology not only powers smart systems but also enhances health and living standards. She praised Sheikha Bodour’s visionary leadership, recognizing her as a role model inspiring women in the UAE and worldwide.

SPARK’s Role in Promoting Innovation

Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SPARK, stated that innovation thrives through diversity, and women’s participation is crucial for building sustainable knowledge economies. He described the forum as a platform enabling female innovators to lead the future of science and technology while fostering collaboration and inclusive development.

Global Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

The forum welcomed global experts and female entrepreneurs, providing insights into advancing women’s roles in technology and creating inclusive ecosystems. The event promoted international collaboration, highlighting Sharjah’s commitment to empowering women in STEM and supporting sustainable technological development.

By engaging youth and professionals in discussions about AI, robotics, sustainability, and future lifestyles, the forum aimed to inspire the next generation of female leaders in technology.
