The 6th edition of the Women in Technology Forum began in Sharjah under the theme “Future Lifestyles,” organized by Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SPARK). The event attracted leading female leaders, tech experts, and young entrepreneurs from across the world. Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of SPARK, inaugurated the forum, highlighting the vital role women play in driving innovation, social development, and progress in science and technology. She emphasized that women’s long-term strategic thinking combined with modern technologies can create smarter, healthier, and more resilient societies.
Focus on Female Leadership in Innovation
Sheikha Bodour called for enhanced female participation in emerging technology fields, urging that women take a central role in shaping the technological future. She noted that women have historically contributed significantly to sectors such as health, education, and community care. “This is an age of transformation. Women must be central to shaping our technological future,” she said, encouraging global action to empower women innovators.

A CEOs’ panel explored policies to strengthen women’s influence in technology leadership. Additionally, a youth session organized by the Sharjah Youth Council offered young participants a platform to present their ideas and innovations.

Ohood Khalfan Al Roumi, UAE Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, highlighted how technological development improves quality of life. She emphasized that technology not only powers smart systems but also enhances health and living standards. She praised Sheikha Bodour’s visionary leadership, recognizing her as a role model inspiring women in the UAE and worldwide.

Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SPARK, stated that innovation thrives through diversity, and women’s participation is crucial for building sustainable knowledge economies.
