Abu Dhabi, UAE – December 12, 2025 – His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs and Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, presided over a significant International Development Dialogue in Abu Dhabi.

The forum gathered esteemed international leaders, policymakers, philanthropists, and development specialists to engage in comprehensive discussions on the evolving landscape of international development. Organized by the Office of Development Affairs at the Presidential Court, the dialogue served as a reflective platform for examining novel methods of global collaboration and sustainable progress.

His Highness Sheikh Theyab interacted directly with guests and speakers, underlining the crucial role of collaborative approaches in tackling common global issues. Topics of conversation included the impacts of changing geopolitical dynamics, fluctuating economic conditions, and rapid technological advancements on worldwide development priorities.

Discussions delved into the ramifications of a multipolar world, the growing prominence of emerging stakeholders, and the enhanced significance of South-to-South cooperation in addressing global challenges. A major focus was the widening gap in development finance, calling for adaptive and robust financing solutions. Experts underscored the critical role of blended capital models that involve stakeholders from the outset, with philanthropy acting as a catalyst to minimize risks and bolster sustained investment from governments and institutions.

The dialogue centered on Africa’s development path, with emphasis on demographic advantage, leadership, and the prospects of increased regional integration. The importance of inclusive governance, community initiatives, and ongoing investment in education, healthcare, and economic opportunity was highlighted as essential for long-term progress.

Notably, the discussions examined the transformative potential of frontier technologies, such as artificial intelligence and digital public infrastructure, to enhance resilience and expedite development. Talks emphasized the necessity for responsible application, strong governance, and skill development to optimize the benefits of these technologies.

The event concluded with a collective call for adaptive, trust-based, and action-driven cooperation models to navigate an increasingly intricate global landscape and promote sustainable development efforts worldwide.
