His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, chaired the Higher Committee for the Water and Electricity Sector meeting today at Qasr Al Watan. The session focused on reviewing Abu Dhabi’s ongoing initiatives in water and electricity and discussing strategies for sustainable growth.

Reviewing Sector Developments

During the meeting, the committee examined the latest developments in Abu Dhabi’s water and electricity sectors. The discussion highlighted the emirate’s progress in providing reliable services, expanding infrastructure, and integrating innovative technologies. Officials assessed current achievements while identifying areas for future improvement to maintain high standards of service delivery.

Planning for Future Growth

A significant part of the meeting focused on future growth strategies. The committee emphasized the importance of diversifying energy sources and promoting low-carbon solutions, supporting Abu Dhabi’s transition toward sustainable and environmentally friendly energy production. The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; Dr Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the President's Office for Strategic Affairs; Dr Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and ADNOC CEO; Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority; Jassem Mohamed Bu Ataba Al Zaabi, Chairman of Department of Finance; Dr Abdullah Hamid Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Department of Energy; and Mohammed Hassan Al Suwaidi, Minister of Investment and CEO of ADQ. Their participation underscores the collaborative effort to ensure sustainable sector growth.

The committee discussed how water and electricity strategies support Abu Dhabi’s broader economic expansion.
