The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi proudly announced that a remarkable 26.6 million visitors made their way to Abu Dhabi in 2025, highlighting a significant leap in its ambition to establish itself as a prime global tourism and cultural hotspot. This accomplishment underscores the emirate's increasing allure on the world stage and its commitment to sustainable economic progress.

Tourism and Cultural Growth on the Rise

DCT Abu Dhabi marked a pivotal year in 2025, with hotel revenues climbing by 19.5% to reach AED 9.1 billion. The Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector thrived as well, boasting a 40% rise in delegates to 2.2 million.

Cultural and recreational events lured in over 4.2 million attendees, representing an increase of 20% from 2024. Additionally, cultural sites and libraries saw more than 8.6 million visitors, demonstrating the cultural richness of the emirate. Qasr Al Hosn alone enjoyed a visitor uptick of 22%.

Cultural Identity Fuels Tourism Growth

Authorities reiterated the importance of culture at the heart of Abu Dhabi’s tourism strategy. Continuous development in locales like the Saadiyat Cultural District and other iconic sites has been pivotal in shaping Abu Dhabi's international persona, fostering enduring growth and visitor engagement.

Significant Events Attract Large Crowds

In 2025, Abu Dhabi hosted an impressive 252 cultural and leisure events, attracting millions of participants. Some of the standout events included:

  • MOTN Festival, which saw participation from over 252,000 individuals

  • Coldplay concerts at Zayed Sports City with 193,000 attendees

  • Abu Dhabi T10, drawing around 100,000 spectators

  • Liwa International Festival, attracting over 159,000 visitors

Heritage festivals like Al Hosn and the Maritime Heritage Festival also saw an impressive influx of over 608,000 visitors combined.

MICE Sector Grows Rapidly

The MICE sector recorded 6,600 events in 2025, a 37% increase, welcoming 2.2 million participants. Some key events included:

  • IDEX/NAVDEX

  • Make it in the Emirates

  • Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week

These events contributed significantly to the business tourism landscape.

Cultural Attractions Flourishing

Louvre Abu Dhabi stood out as a top draw with 1.4 million visitors, while Qasr Al Hosn attracted over 843,000 attendees. Abu Dhabi also enhanced its cultural portfolio with new offerings and reopened sites, such as:

  • Zayed National Museum

  • Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi

  • Al Ain Museum

Impressive Hotel and Tourism Performance

In 2025, Abu Dhabi welcomed 5.9 million guests to its hotels, alongside 338,000 staying in vacation homes and glamping sites. Hotel occupancy surged to 81%, indicating strong demand.

International visitor numbers rose by 10%, with India topping the growth statistics at 22%. Noteworthy markets also included Russia, the UK, China, and Saudi Arabia.

Key hotel performance indicators showed significant improvements:

  • Average Daily Rate (ADR) rose by 19%

  • Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR) saw a 23% increase

  • Average Length of Stay reached 2.9 nights

Regional Development in Al Ain and Al Dhafra

The Al Ain and Al Dhafra regions exhibited commendable growth as well—Al Ain recorded more than 473,000 visitors, while Al Dhafra welcomed approximately 148,000 guests, largely attributed to leisure tourism.

These accomplishments signify Abu Dhabi’s consistent advancement toward its Tourism Strategy 2030 objectives, positioning the emirate for a bright future as a key global player in culture, leisure, and business tourism.
