In southern China, the devastating Tropical Storm Maysak has wreaked havoc, resulting in two confirmed deaths and extensive damage to infrastructure, prompting the evacuation of tens of thousands due to severe flooding.
Officials confirmed the storm's toll included two fatalities in Nanning, Guangxi province. The crisis has impacted approximately 55,000 individuals, necessitating the evacuation of nearly 48,000 as floodwaters surged.
The storm posed a significant threat to several dams in Guangxi, leading to multiple breaches during the flooding.
In response, over 1,000 rescue workers along with vehicles and boats have been dispatched to the affected areas. Additionally, two drones were employed to ensure communication in hard-hit locations as conventional services were disrupted.
Continuous rainfall caused rivers to overflow in Fangchenggang city, resulting in severe flooding. Numerous vehicles were completely submerged, with water covering streets and neighborhoods.

Rescue teams utilized inflatable boats to assist stranded citizens, moving them to safety. Locals reported that this flooding is the most severe they have witnessed in two decades.
Following its destruction in southern China, Tropical Storm Maysak made landfall in Vietnam.
Mong Cai's border town experienced fury from strong winds, which downed trees and lifted metal roofs. As conditions improved, emergency responders employed heavy equipment to clear obstructions from the roads.
Prior to reaching Vietnam, Maysak had already uprooted trees in Dongxing and unleashed heavy rains on Hainan Island before returning to the ocean.
Elsewhere in China, weather-related incidents have also resulted in loss of life.
In eastern Inner Mongolia, two villagers tragically died in a flash flood on Saturday night. One victim drowned while attempting to herd cattle, while another perished in floodwaters while attempting to safeguard the herd.
On the same day, three additional fatalities were reported in Fushun city, Liaoning province, with no further details provided by officials.
Fushun experienced severe rainfall early Saturday, with one location recording up to 32.9 centimeters (13 inches) of rain.
The flooding transformed roads into expansive water bodies, significantly disrupting daily life. Approximately 3,600 residents have been relocated to safety as emergency services continue their operations.
