The government of Ajman has taken a big step towards improving its infrastructure by opening the Sheikh Zayed Street Development Project in the Al Helio area. This project was officially launched by the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department in partnership with the Ajman Police.

The project was carried out under the direction of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman.

The newly developed road stretches 2.8 kilometers and was built at a total cost of AED 63 million.

This is not just a road project—it is part of a bigger plan to modernize Ajman’s infrastructure and support the emirate’s population growth, economic development, and long-term urban planning goals.

A Step Toward Ajman Vision 2030

The Sheikh Zayed Street Development Project is part of Ajman Vision 2030, which aims to create a modern, safe, and sustainable living environment for all residents. The Vision focuses on improving infrastructure, transportation, and the overall quality of life across the emirate.

With this project, the Ajman government is moving closer to its goal of building a fully integrated and smart transportation network that serves both current and future needs.

Officials say the project is just one of many initiatives under Ajman Vision 2030 that aim to provide residents with a connected, modern, and high-quality living experience.

What the Project Includes

The Sheikh Zayed Street Development Project was not just about building a new road. It included a complete upgrade to the infrastructure of the area.

Here are some of the key features of the project:

  • Road expansion and resurfacing

  • Smart lighting systems

  • Pedestrian walkways and crossings

  • New road signs and traffic management tools

  • Drainage and environmental protection systems

All of these features were designed to improve traffic flow, increase road safety, and make the area more comfortable and accessible for pedestrians as well as drivers.

The road now links important residential and commercial areas within Al Helio and beyond, improving access to the entire northern part of the emirate.

Designed for Growing Communities

Ajman has been growing rapidly in terms of both population and urban development. With more people moving in and new neighborhoods expanding, the demand for better roads and transport facilities has also increased.

This project helps meet that demand, especially in Al Helio, which is one of Ajman’s fastest-growing areas.

The improved road is expected to:

  • Reduce travel time

  • Ease traffic congestion

  • Increase road safety

  • Support emergency services and logistics.

In short, this road project will make daily life more efficient and safer for everyone who lives in or passes through the area.

Joint Effort from Government Departments

The successful completion of the Sheikh Zayed Street Project shows the power of collaboration between government departments.

The Ajman Municipality and Planning Department led the engineering and development work, while Ajman Police provided safety assessments and traffic management support.

This teamwork ensures that the final outcome is both technically sound and meets the real needs of the community.

Their joint goal was to ensure that the road is not only well-constructed but also safe, efficient, and ready to support the emirate's growing needs.

Environmentally Friendly and Sustainable

In line with Ajman’s sustainability goals, the materials and methods used in the Sheikh Zayed Street project were eco-friendly.

Efforts were made to reduce the environmental impact during construction by using sustainable materials and smart technologies that help save energy and reduce emissions.

The new lighting systems, for example, are energy-efficient, and the drainage systems are designed to reduce water runoff and prevent flooding.

These additions make the project environmentally responsible as well as effective in serving human needs.

Officials Highlight Project’s Importance

At the inauguration ceremony, officials expressed pride in completing such a vital project successfully.

A representative from the Ajman Municipality said:

"This development is a major step in our mission to provide better infrastructure for our residents. We want to improve not just roads, but lives."

They added that future projects are already being planned to continue building Ajman’s reputation as a modern, livable, and sustainable emirate.

The Ajman Police also highlighted the project’s contribution to road safety. According to them, improved roads lead to fewer accidents, better traffic control, and quicker response times for emergency services.

Long-Term Benefits for Everyone

This project brings many long-term benefits for Ajman and its residents:

  • Business Development: Easier transport means better logistics for businesses.

  • Public Services: Quicker access for ambulances, fire trucks, and police.

  • Residential Growth: Families can enjoy a smoother, safer commute.

  • Sustainability: Better planning and greener construction practices.

In the years to come, the road will continue to serve as an important link between new communities and major city centers.

Leadership Driving Progress

None of this would be possible without the strong leadership of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi.

Under his direction, Ajman has grown into a forward-thinking emirate that focuses on long-term progress, sustainable development, and people-first planning.

The Sheikh Zayed Street project reflects the ruler’s visionary leadership, where every development is aimed at creating a better life for the citizens and residents of Ajman.

What’s Next for Ajman?

The success of this project has laid the foundation for more infrastructure developments in the future.

Ajman Municipality has already hinted at other upcoming projects focused on smart roads, public transportation systems, bridges, and green infrastructure.

With Vision 2030 guiding every step, the emirate is working hard to ensure that its development is well-planned, smart, and sustainable.
