Six Lives Lost in Amroha Highway Accidents

Post by : Meena Hassan

A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Amroha district, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday night, leading to the loss of six lives in two distinct road accidents on the highways.

The first tragedy struck as four MBBS students from Venkateshwar University lost their lives when their speeding vehicle crashed head-on into a stationary DCM truck on the Delhi-Lucknow National Highway. Eyewitness accounts reveal a scene of devastation, with the vehicle severely damaged and literally no chance for the victims to survive. Emergency response teams, including police and forensic specialists, arrived swiftly at the site, engaging in meticulous examinations of the wreckage to ascertain the factors contributing to the unfortunate accident. Family members of the deceased are being notified, while representatives from Venkateshwar University also arrived to provide assistance. The identities of the students are currently being confirmed.

In a separate occurrence on National Highway 9 at Gajraula around 8:45 p.m., two men, identified as Deepak and Nitin from Lakhimpur Kheri’s Sona Khurd village, perished after their motorcycle collided with a truck. Reports suggest that they were returning from Gurugram, where they worked as bike riders. Police responded promptly, securing the bodies and initiating post-mortem procedures. Station House Officer Manoj Kumar disclosed that the Panchnamas for both victims have been completed, and investigations into the circumstances behind the incident are underway, with further legal action anticipated as mandated by law.

In response to these tragedies, Rajabpur police have confirmed that investigations into both accidents are ongoing. Officers together with forensic teams worked diligently to gather evidence, analyze the scenes, and reconstruct the incidents leading to the tragic collisions. Authorities have appealed to drivers to exercise utmost caution on highways, particularly during nighttime, stressing compliance with traffic regulations to prevent such calamities in the future.
