Under the patronage of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Art Dubai's 20th anniversary edition concluded successfully, attracting a record high of public attendance and garnering acclaim from a global spectrum of artists, galleries, and collectors.
From 14 to 17 May at Madinat Jumeirah, the event welcomed more than 25,000 attendees during its public days, marking an unprecedented turnout in the fair's history. This edition celebrated the pivotal role played by artists, galleries, and cultural institutions over two decades in enhancing the UAE's creative sector.
Art Dubai 2026 underscored Dubai's expanding stature as a leading regional and global art venue, showcasing contemporary, modern, and digital artworks alongside prominent galleries. Event organizers emphasized the importance of highlighting and nurturing emerging UAE-based artists and creatives.
Throughout the four-day event, robust artwork sales were reported, with participation from significant international, regional, and local museums, institutions, and private collectors from both Dubai and beyond.
Organized with the collaboration of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority as a strategic partner, Art Dubai was also supported by A.R.M. Holding and lifestyle developer HUNA.
Benedetta Ghione, Executive Director of Art Dubai Group, remarked that the edition's success was attributable to the invaluable support from artists, galleries, and partners. She noted the enthusiastic public response reflects Dubai's rich cultural diversity and the unifying power of art.
Participating galleries commended the fair for cultivating a robust local art market and noted growing collector interest in the region.
Franco Noero, from the Turin-based Franco Noero Gallery, observed that the region remains a rewarding environment for long-term art investment and highlighted the sophisticated nature of Dubai’s collectors.
Taymour Grahne, who opened his gallery in Dubai in 2025, shared that his booth sold out within the event's first hours, noting interest from a diverse range of collectors including Emiratis, Saudis, Lebanese, Americans, and more.
Maliha Tabari, founder of Tabari Artspace, noted that Art Dubai has significantly contributed to connecting Middle Eastern and North African art with global audiences. She praised the fair for fostering meaningful interactions among artists, collectors, and attendees.
Mohammed Hafiz, co-founder of ATHR Gallery, described Art Dubai as a vital platform for regional artists, asserting that the event confirms the Middle East's pivotal role in the global arts dialogue.
The fair witnessed substantial representation from institutions across over 20 countries, including the Netherlands, the UK, the US, Egypt, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Angola, Lebanon, Germany, South Africa, and South Korea.
Key institutions at the event included the Museum of Modern Art, Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa, and Busan Museum of Art.
The next iteration of Art Dubai is scheduled for 7 to 11 April 2027 at Madinat Jumeirah.
