Bigg Boss Strengthens Mental Health Protocols with 24/7 Medical Support

Post by : Meena Hassan

Bigg Boss has long been associated with emotionally charged moments, with participants sometimes breaking down or requesting exits. The production team says a comprehensive mental health framework is in place to protect contestants throughout the season.

Producer Rishi Negi confirmed that each participant undergoes full medical checks, including psychological evaluations, before being cleared to enter the house. “There have been occasions when medical professionals advised against certain individuals joining, and we followed that guidance,” Negi said.

Once filming starts, care does not stop. Negi said the show retains both a doctor and a psychiatrist who are available 24/7 to assist housemates during difficult moments.

“If a contestant suffers a breakdown, the psychiatrist is immediately available,” he added. “Decisions on whether someone continues or is removed are made solely by medical experts, not by the channel, producers, or the host.”

Negi also stressed the programme's wide reach across ages and communities, noting content is managed to balance viewer interest with responsibility. “When you bring many people together, emotions will surface,” he said. “Our aim is not to incite conflict or exploit vulnerability but to be conscious of the impact on both participants and audiences.”
