British Airways Extends Middle East Flight Cuts

British Airways Extends Middle East Flight Cuts

Post by : Bianca Haleem

British Airways has extended its temporary reduction in flights across the Middle East due to ongoing uncertainty and instability in regional airspace.

The airline had already suspended or cancelled flights to several key destinations, including Amman, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, and Tel Aviv until later this month. Flights to Abu Dhabi have been suspended for a longer period.

In an official statement, British Airways said the decision was made due to continued uncertainty in the Middle East and unstable airspace conditions. The airline added that extending these measures will provide more clarity and better planning for passengers.

The airline confirmed it is closely monitoring the situation and staying in direct contact with affected travellers. Customers impacted by cancellations are being offered multiple options, including rebooking and travel assistance.

Since the start of the disruption, British Airways has helped thousands of passengers return home. It has also operated eight special relief flights from Muscat to manage the situation.

To reduce inconvenience, the airline is increasing capacity on alternative routes. Additional flights have been added to destinations like Singapore and Bangkok, while further options are being reviewed to assist more affected passengers.

British Airways said it will continue to assess the situation and make changes as needed to ensure passenger safety and smooth travel operations.
