In a remarkable display of efficiency, Bur Dubai Police have successfully thwarted a major robbery, apprehending two suspects just hours before they attempted to flee the country with AED 660,000 in stolen cash. This swift and coordinated operation not only recovered the entire sum but ensured the criminals were intercepted at Dubai International Airport, underscoring the force's commitment to public safety.

The incident came to light when a local business reported the theft of AED 660,000 from its premises. Acting promptly, the investigation team at Bur Dubai Police Station initiated an operation, quickly identifying the suspects. Through effective collaboration between the police and airport security, officers managed to intercept the pair at the airport, catching them in the act with the stolen cash.

The suspects were detained, and the stolen funds were returned to the owner. This operation exemplifies the department’s unwavering dedication to safeguarding residents, businesses, and visitors in Dubai. Brigadier Eid Mohammed Thani Hareb, Acting Director of Bur Dubai Police Station, commended his team for their professionalism and quick response, noting that this incident reflects the readiness of Dubai Police to manage high-stakes cases with precision. He encourages citizens and business owners to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities using the Dubai Police smart app, Police Eye service, or by calling 901 for non-emergencies.
