Burberry, the famous British fashion house, closed London Fashion Week with a bold summer collection that looked to the world of music festivals for inspiration. The show, held on September 22, 2025, took place inside a large tent at Kensington Palace Gardens in London. Models walked on a floor covered in brown sand, which gave the feeling of being at a festival site, complete with the crunch of boots and sandals echoing the sound of outdoor concerts.
The collection, designed by creative director Daniel Lee, featured crochet dresses, fringed jackets, and sharp suits in bright colors such as acid green, pink, and yellow. The clothing reflected a mix of hippie-inspired style and modern tailoring. As models showed the pieces, a soundtrack from the legendary rock band Black Sabbath added a strong edge to the atmosphere, linking fashion directly with music culture.
This was Daniel Lee’s sixth collection for Burberry. It also marked the third major season since Joshua Schulman became CEO of the company. Schulman has focused on making Burberry’s identity stronger by returning to its roots and celebrating symbols that have made the brand famous, such as the trench coat, the check pattern, and luxury outerwear.
Industry experts said that this show confirmed Burberry’s new direction. David Thielebeule, fashion director at Bloomingdale’s, explained that the brand is sharpening its focus on its strongest designs. He praised Lee for carrying that momentum forward by mixing Burberry classics with new details such as crochet, fringe, metallic finishes, and mirrored effects.
Burberry itself highlighted how fashion and music have always shared a strong link. In a press release, the company said Lee took inspiration from British music culture, which has had a huge influence on the world. This connection has also been clear in Burberry’s advertising campaigns under Schulman, where famous artists like Liam Gallagher, DJ Goldie, and rapper Loyle Carner have been featured.
One of the standout moments from the show was the use of Burberry’s famous check design. The check appeared in unusual forms, such as chainmail mini dresses in neon shades, black and silver, and in trench coats with snakeskin patterns or even tarot card prints. These creative changes gave a fresh look to traditional items while keeping them connected to British identity.
Simon Longland, director of fashion buying at Harrods, said the new collection felt like “a confident embrace of a younger client” and reflected the energy of British festivals. His comments captured the mood of the event, where the mix of music and fashion showed Burberry’s effort to reach new generations without losing its classic heritage.
The summer 2026 collection is not only about clothes but also about culture. By combining the spirit of British music with timeless design, Burberry is building a story that speaks to global audiences. The show’s success at London Fashion Week proves that the brand is not only keeping up with change but also leading the conversation in fashion today.
