Foiled California Bombing Plot: Four Arrested Ahead of New Year's Eve

Four individuals linked to the far-left group Turtle Island Liberation Front have been apprehended in California while they plotted a bomb attack coinciding with New Year’s Eve celebrations.

US Attorney General Pam Bondi stated that the FBI and Justice Department successfully dismantled a “significant and alarming terror scheme.” The individuals arrested are Audrey Illeene Carroll, 30; Zachary Aaron Page, 32; Dante Gaffield, 24; and Tina Lai, 41. They now face charges related to conspiracy and the possession of an unregistered explosive device.

Investigators reported surveillance footage of the suspects active in the Mojave Desert, not far from Los Angeles. Authorities believe their plan involved planting bombs at logistics centers similar to Amazon's on New Year’s Eve, expecting the explosions would be less noticeable amidst the celebrations.

This group claims to focus on the “liberation of oppressed populations” and has previously protested against ICE operations regarding detentions and deportations.

Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell emphasized that even when local and federal entities may have differing views on immigration, their shared goal is the safety of the community.
