Chris Evans and Alba Baptista welcome their first baby

Post by : Meena Hassan

Hollywood’s beloved couple, Chris Evans and Alba Baptista, have officially entered a new chapter in their lives — parenthood! According to a report by TMZ on Tuesday, the Captain America star and the Warrior Nun actor welcomed their first child over the weekend.

The report states that the baby was born on Saturday in Massachusetts, USA, though neither Evans nor Baptista has made a public announcement yet. The couple, known for keeping their relationship extremely private, has not shared the baby’s name or gender either. Representatives for both stars have reportedly not responded to requests for comment.

Chris Evans, 44, and Alba Baptista, 27, have kept much of their relationship away from the limelight. The couple reportedly began dating several years before getting married in September 2023. Their wedding was a private ceremony held in Cape Cod, attended by close family and friends, including some of Evans’ Marvel co-stars.

Before their wedding, the pair confirmed their relationship to the public only nine months earlier, when they went Instagram official. Fans had long speculated about their romance after spotting subtle hints on social media and a few paparazzi photographs.

The couple’s relationship quickly became a favorite topic among fans who admired their low-profile, wholesome image. Evans, known for his gentlemanly demeanor, has often expressed his desire for a stable family life.

Speculation about Baptista’s pregnancy first began circulating in June 2025, when a fan account dedicated to the couple posted a Father’s Day tribute to both actors’ fathers. Interestingly, Alba’s father, Luiz Baptista, commented on the post saying, “Many thanks dear Chris. Your turn is coming!”

The cryptic message immediately sent fans into a frenzy, with many interpreting it as a hint that the couple might be expecting their first child. However, neither Chris nor Alba confirmed or denied the rumors at the time.

After their 2023 wedding, Chris Evans opened up briefly about his dreams of becoming a dad. In a November 2024 interview with Access Hollywood, the actor expressed his excitement about the idea of starting a family.

“I hope so,” he said when asked if he planned to have children soon. “The title of dad is an exciting one.”

Those words have now come true as Evans begins his journey into fatherhood. Friends close to the actor describe him as “incredibly family-oriented” and someone who has always wanted to have children.

Both Evans and Baptista have had a busy few years professionally.

In 2025, Chris Evans appeared in several projects, including Honey Don’t!, Materialists, and most recently, Sacrifice, which earned positive reviews for his nuanced performance. Although Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed it, reports suggest that Evans is expected to reprise his role as Steve Rogers in Avengers: Doomsday, part of the upcoming MCU lineup.

Evans has not yet announced any new projects following the release of Sacrifice, possibly taking a well-deserved break to focus on his family and personal life.

Meanwhile, Alba Baptista, the talented Portuguese actor, continues to make waves internationally. In 2025, she starred in Borderline, earning critical acclaim for her performance. She is also set to appear in Mother Mary and the highly anticipated Voltron, further cementing her rising career in Hollywood.

While fans are eagerly waiting for the couple to share more details about their new baby, those close to Evans and Baptista expect them to keep things under wraps for now. Both have consistently valued privacy and rarely discuss personal matters in interviews or on social media.

Sources suggest that the new parents are currently spending time in Boston, Massachusetts, surrounded by close family. Evans, who grew up in the Boston area, has often spoken about his deep connection to his hometown and preference for a quieter life away from Hollywood’s glare.

Despite the couple’s silence, fans have flooded social media platforms with congratulatory messages. “Captain America is officially a dad!” wrote one fan on X (formerly Twitter). Another user shared, “So happy for Chris and Alba — wishing them endless love and laughter with their little one.”

As Hollywood’s new parents settle into life with their newborn, fans hope the couple will eventually share a glimpse of their growing family. But knowing Chris and Alba’s preference for privacy, that moment might take a while — and fans seem perfectly happy to wait.
