Recently, Deepika Padukone was seen leaving Maddock Films' office, igniting rumors about her next cinematic venture. While there were initial assumptions regarding her participation in a horror-comedy, fresh reports indicate a different direction.
The actress is allegedly being eyed for the female lead role in Maddock Films’ mythological film Mahavatar, which will star Vicky Kaushal. The project, which was unveiled last year, revolves around the legendary hero Parashuram.
Sources have disclosed, “The production team is in search of an actress who can deliver both gravitas and emotional nuance alongside Parashuram. Deepika is a perfect match for this. Preliminary discussions are ongoing but remain in their infancy. She is one of the top candidates.”
Director Amar Kaushik emphasized the importance of a strong female character, stating, “From the inception, we aimed for the female lead to hold equal significance within the narrative.”
If everything goes as planned, this film will mark the first collaboration between Deepika Padukone and Vicky Kaushal. The filmmakers have yet to make an official announcement regarding her participation.
Kaushik also shared details regarding Kaushal’s casting, expressing, “Vicky’s background as an assistant director is notable, and I’ve always wanted to partner with him. When we conceptualized Mahavatar, it was clear he embodies the purity, intensity, and depth suitable for this character.”
