Mumbai: Iconic Bollywood star Dharmendra, affectionately known as the He-Man of Indian cinema, has been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai due to breathlessness. At 89, he is currently under professional medical care, and his family reports that his condition is stable and improving.
In light of rampant misinformation and exaggerated social media claims regarding the actor's death, both his wife, Hema Malini, and daughter, Esha Deol, have vocally requested dignity and caution against spreading unverified information.
Hema Malini vented her frustration on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “This is simply unacceptable! How can responsible media outlets circulate false information about someone who is in recovery? Please respect our family's privacy during this time.”
Esha Deol took to Instagram to calm fan concerns, remarking, “The media is in a frenzy spreading misinformation. My father is stable and healing. We ask for privacy. Your prayers for dad's quick recovery mean a lot.”
It has been reported that Dharmendra is receiving care from cardiologist Dr. Dev Pahlajani at the hospital. Although there are unverified claims floating around about him being on ventilator support, family members have refrained from verifying or confirming such reports.
Throughout the day, numerous family members and friends, including Hema Malini, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, and Abhay Deol, have visited the hospital. Alongside them, Bollywood personalities such as Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Ameesha Patel were also seen offering their support and prayers for Dharmendra's speedy recovery.
Security measures have ramped up outside Breach Candy Hospital as both fans and media assemble for updates. Hospital insiders indicate that Dharmendra is responding favorably to his treatment and is under constant medical supervision.
Fans from across the nation have taken to social media, sharing messages and prayers for the actor's recovery, with the hashtag #PrayersForDharmendra trending since early this morning. Many recall his memorable roles in classic films like Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani.
As he approaches his 90th birthday in December, Dharmendra has maintained his presence in films and on social platforms, continuing to inspire many with his warmth and charm. His most recent appearance was in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya earlier this year.
Currently, there has been no formal medical update from the doctors; however, family representatives assure that there's no need for alarm. Dharmendra is stable, and the Deol family urges everyone to depend solely on credible information.
