The action-packed movie Dhurandhar, featuring Ranveer Singh, has enjoyed a stellar debut at the international box office. Within just four days, it has surpassed the crucial ₹190 crore mark globally, impressing industry experts and reaffirming that compelling storytelling paired with star talent captures large audiences.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar premiered in theaters last Friday. The film displayed impressive gains over its opening weekend and maintained solid performance into its first Monday, a significant indicator of a film’s longevity.
As reported by the film's producers, Jio Studios, the movie grossed ₹130.80 crore net in India during its initial four days. It made ₹28.60 crore on its opening day, followed by ₹33.10 crore on Saturday, and ₹44.80 crore on Sunday. On Monday, it added ₹24.30 crore, demonstrating strong viewer support even mid-week.
Dhurandhar also found success in overseas markets, with Sacnilk indicating an approximate ₹42 crore earnings internationally in the same timeframe. Combined, the global box office stood above ₹193 crore in just four days.
This surge in earnings has allowed Dhurandhar to exceed the lifetime gross of two films released earlier this year. Sikandar collected a worldwide total of ₹184.6 crore, while Thamma finished with ₹187.59 crore, highlighting how quickly Dhurandhar has ascended in the box office rankings.
The film aims to surpass the next significant benchmark set by Raid 2, which has a total of ₹237.46 crore. Given Dhurandhar’s successful Monday, industry analysts believe it has promising prospects to reach or potentially exceed that figure soon.
A critical element in the film's success is its remarkable ensemble cast. Alongside Ranveer Singh, viewers enjoy performances from Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi. Each actor enriches the narrative, enhancing the film's appeal.
Inspired by true-life events, the plot of Dhurandhar centers around a covert operation in Lyari, Pakistan. The narrative revolves around an effort to dismantle a menacing crime syndicate. Ranveer Singh plays Hamza Ali Mazari, also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, delivering a performance that has garnered praise from audiences and critics alike.
Written, directed, and co-produced by Aditya Dhar, with production backing from Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar under the Jio Studios and B62 Studios flags, the film’s skilled direction and well-crafted screenplay have ensured sustained viewer engagement.
In an exciting update, a sequel titled Dhurandhar 2 has been confirmed and is set for release on March 19, 2026. The success of the first installment has heightened anticipation for the upcoming chapter.
Ultimately, Dhurandhar exemplifies how meticulous planning, stellar performances, and a gripping storyline can create box office triumph. Its early achievements suggest that filmgoers are keen on supporting action films rooted in substantive content. If the current trajectory holds, it may soon claim a spot among the year's biggest successes.
