Diane Ladd, Veteran Actress, Dies at 89

Veteran screen and stage performer Diane Ladd has died at the age of 89, marking the loss of a long-serving figure in American cinema.

Her daughter, Laura Dern, announced the passing, describing Ladd as "an amazing hero" and "the greatest gift of a mother." Ladd passed away peacefully at her home in Ojai, California, with family at her side. No cause of death has been disclosed at this time.

Over a career spanning more than sixty years, Ladd appeared in notable films including Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, Wild at Heart, Chinatown, and Primary Colors. She earned three Academy Award nominations and widespread respect for her craft.

Beyond film, Ladd worked on television and the stage, demonstrating a wide range and deep emotional resonance in her roles.

Tributes have appeared across social media from fans and colleagues alike, celebrating her contributions to the industry. As Laura Dern wrote, "Her light, love, and artistry will live on forever."

Diane Ladd leaves behind a rich body of work, a devoted family, and a lasting influence on generations of performers.
