Veteran screen and stage performer Diane Ladd has died at the age of 89, marking the loss of a long-serving figure in American cinema.
Her daughter, Laura Dern, announced the passing, describing Ladd as "an amazing hero" and "the greatest gift of a mother." Ladd passed away peacefully at her home in Ojai, California, with family at her side. No cause of death has been disclosed at this time.
Over a career spanning more than sixty years, Ladd appeared in notable films including Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, Wild at Heart, Chinatown, and Primary Colors. She earned three Academy Award nominations and widespread respect for her craft.
