Post by : Saif Al-Najjar

Country music legend Dolly Parton, 79, reassured her fans about her health on Wednesday after her sister’s social media post caused concern. Parton, famous for songs like 9 to 5 and movies like Steel Magnolias, addressed the rumors in a video posted on Instagram. She emphasized that she is healthy and working despite some minor health issues.

What Happened

Recently, Dolly Parton announced she was postponing several Las Vegas shows to focus on her health. Her sister, Freida Parton, posted on social media that she had been “up all night praying” for Dolly. This led many fans to worry that the singer was seriously ill. Freida later clarified that she “didn’t mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious.”

In response, Dolly Parton posted a video from a set where she was filming commercials for the Grand Ole Opry. With her signature humor, she said, “I ain't dead yet. Do I look sick to you? I'm working hard here.”

Dolly’s Health Update

In the video, Parton explained that she had been neglecting her own health during the illness and death of her husband, Carl Dean, who passed away in March 2025. She is now taking care of herself and working with doctors to manage some minor health issues.

She reassured her fans, saying:

“I want you to know I'm OK.”

“I've got some problems … nothing major.”

“I'm not dying.”
