Dubai Enhances City Makers Initiative for Public Service

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Dubai, UAE — The city of Dubai has reasserted its dedication to providing top-tier public services. His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum convened with leaders from the City Makers initiative, a cross-government framework aimed at improving community-centric services.

In a meeting administered by the General Secretariat of The Executive Council, Sheikh Maktoum reviewed enhancements in service delivery aligned with Dubai's aspiration of becoming the world's "best and most beautiful city." He stressed that this direction is underpinned by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the directives from His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, endorsing a unified government model focused on citizens’ needs.

Sheikh Maktoum pointed out that the teamwork among Dubai's government sectors is a pivotal asset. He remarked that foreseeing public expectations and providing integrated services are crucial to maintaining the social and economic dynamism of the emirate. He ensured that the development of public services will remain people-oriented, requiring collaboration across all government entities.

Additionally, the meeting highlighted the scale of Dubai's vigorous growth, with the emirate's population exceeding four million. Dubai International Airport has welcomed 93.8 million passengers over the past year, ranking it among the top three travel hubs globally by late 2025. Officials emphasized that such achievements are indicative of effective government collaboration across various sectors.

The City Makers initiative continues to focus on services that yield tangible benefits for the community, which include social support, health and empowerment initiatives, cultural preservation, and partnerships that enhance the functionality of public systems.

Sheikh Maktoum acknowledged the teams pushing these initiatives forward, honoring them as "city makers" whose efforts bolster community welfare and align with the objectives of the Dubai 2033 Plan.

With government departments working in unison, Dubai is determined to set new benchmarks for service quality and preserve its international competitiveness.
