Dubai is enhancing its economic relations with Serbia as key business leaders and officials convened at a significant roundtable aimed at identifying new trade and investment opportunities. The meeting took place at Dubai Chambers’ headquarters, featuring prominent figures including Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers; Stevan Nikčević, State Secretary of Serbia’s Ministry of Foreign and Internal Trade; and Vladimir Marić, the Serbian Ambassador to the UAE.
The dialogue uncovered various opportunities in sectors including construction, energy, IT, agri-food, healthcare, fintech, industrial automation, and transportation. Both parties discussed strategies to enhance bilateral trade, promote joint initiatives, and create sustainable opportunities for business sectors in both Dubai and Serbia.
The attractiveness of Dubai for Serbian investors is clear: 83 new Serbian firms registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce in the first three quarters of 2024, bringing the total to 293 active Serbian businesses. Meanwhile, non-oil bilateral trade between both nations surged by 44 percent year-on-year, hitting around AED336 million.
Market analysts suggest that these developments highlight Dubai’s ambition to be a premier global investment hub, attracting businesses from various regions while fostering beneficial international collaborations.
