Post by : Bianca Haleem

The Dubai Judicial Institute (DJI) has commenced the 15th cohort of its accredited program, “Judicial and Legal Studies for Public Prosecution Members.” This initiative underscores the institute's ongoing commitment to nurturing local talent and enhancing the capabilities of future judicial leaders in Dubai.

The launch event featured prominent figures such as His Excellency Counsellor Essam Issa Al Humaidan, Attorney General of Dubai and Chairman of the Board at Dubai Judicial Institute, along with Her Excellency Judge Dr. Ebtessam Ali Al Badwawi, Director General of DJI, and various senior officials from the Public Prosecution.

This newest cohort comprises 22 Emirati trainees selected to join the Public Prosecution. The training program is meticulously designed to provide deep legal and judicial education via a structured approach that includes academic theory, practical exercises, and professional development geared toward enhancing judicial competencies.

In his remarks, H.E. Counsellor Essam Issa Al Humaidan emphasized the essential role of accredited training in equipping Public Prosecution members. He noted that these programs broaden participants' legal knowledge, refine specialized skills, and strengthen their professional abilities in judicial matters.

He also affirmed the alignment of such initiatives with the vision of Dubai’s leadership, aimed at empowering national talent and promoting Dubai as a benchmark for judicial excellence, rule of law, and effective justice. Continuous collaboration among judicial bodies and commendation for the dedicated trainers were also highlighted.

H.E. Judge Dr. Ebtessam Ali Al Badwawi remarked on the significance of launching the 15th cohort as a reflection of the institute’s dedication to enhancing specialized training programs and facilitating national talent growth. She reiterated the program’s crucial part in cultivating capable Public Prosecution members equipped with comprehensive legal knowledge, judicial insights, and essential skills.

She characterized the development of Public Prosecution members as a strategic asset for the future of justice. DJI is committed to refining its programs through collaboration with seasoned judicial experts, ensuring a high-quality educational experience and sustained judicial excellence in Dubai.

The training span is set for six months, encompassing 450 training hours equivalent to 30 accredited credit hours under the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). The curriculum integrates both theoretical and practical training with a focus on specialized criminal disciplines to adequately prepare participants for the evolving landscape of judicial responsibilities.

During the event, DJI honored the trainers from the 14th cohort under the theme “Pioneers of Training Excellence: A Lasting Impact,” recognizing their unwavering commitment to training Public Prosecution members and their efforts in imparting judicial knowledge to budding Emirati professionals.

Through such accredited educational initiatives, the Dubai Judicial Institute aims to strengthen its standing as a premier judicial training institute, remaining dedicated to delivering contemporary educational opportunities that mirror international best practices while fostering highly qualified legal and judicial professionals who contribute effectively to the justice system and uphold Dubai’s prestige as a leader in judicial excellence.
