Dubai Health, in partnership with the Community Development Authority (CDA) and Dubai Health Authority (DHA), has launched the ‘Itma’en’ service, meaning “rest assured,” to provide free mental health support to citizens, residents, and visitors.
This initiative makes mental well-being a top priority in Dubai, reflecting the city’s commitment to building a comprehensive, integrated healthcare system that improves the quality of life for the entire community.
The Itma’en service offers confidential mental health guidance through a dedicated hotline (800506). Callers can speak with specialists who provide professional advice, reassurance, and support in a safe and private environment. Cases that require medical follow-up are referred to the appropriate care teams.
Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of CDA Dubai, highlighted that the hotline strengthens Dubai’s social care system by offering specialised support for individuals and families facing emotional challenges. She said the service encourages a culture of seeking help and contributes to overall community wellbeing.
His Excellency Dr. Alawi Alsheikh-Ali, Director General of DHA, added that the in
itiative reflects Dubai’s proactive approach to healthcare, placing mental wellbeing on par with physical health. The program also shows the city’s focus on intergovernmental collaboration to ensure timely guidance and care for all community members.
Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health and President of Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), noted that Itma’en embodies Dubai’s vision of accessible, high-quality mental health services. He praised the collaborative effort of CDA and DHA in making this service available to everyone.
The free service operates daily from 9:00 am to midnight, in both Arabic and English, covering all age groups. It provides guidance, reassurance, and access to specialised counselling to promote mental wellbeing and a healthier, happier community.
