Dubai Police Secure Five IACP Awards at 2025 Conference

Post by : Raina Al-Fahim

Dubai Police have won five awards from the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) at the association’s 2025 annual conference in the United States, receiving international recognition for advances in policing and innovation.

Major General Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah Al Mulla, Director of the General Department of Excellence and Pioneering, described the honours as proof of Dubai Police’s global leadership in security and innovation. He said the awards reflect the sustained efforts of departments and officers committed to institutional excellence and forward-looking policing practices.

Al Mulla highlighted that the recognition underscores ongoing programmes to strengthen the security ecosystem through field operations, enhanced training and leadership development. “Our emphasis on innovation, preparedness and strategic collaboration has established Dubai Police as a benchmark in global policing,” he said.

The force captured three institutional prizes: the Prevention of Transnational Crime Award (bestowed on INTERPOL Team 15), the Leadership in Crime Prevention Award for the “SecurePlay” initiative, and the Leadership in Law Enforcement Research Award, attributed to the General Department of Training.

In individual categories, two officers were singled out for distinction — Engineer Major Muhammad Omar Almuhairi received the Leadership in Police Aviation Award, while Captain Sama Abdulrahim Al Zarouni was named among the IACP’s 40 Under 40, recognising young leaders in global policing.

These accolades underline Dubai Police’s capabilities in crime prevention, research and leadership, and mirror the UAE’s commitment to innovation-driven security. The IACP wins mark another milestone in Dubai Police’s bid to remain at the forefront of international policing standards.
