In a pioneering effort, Dubai is redefining standards in government readiness and public engagement through an integrated communication framework that enhances coordination among its various entities.
The General Network of Government Communication (GNGC), operating under The Executive Council’s General Secretariat, held an important session at Jumeirah Emirates Towers to outline the city’s readiness and the cohesive government strategy. Authorities stressed that a unified communication model keeps residents informed and strengthens their confidence in governmental actions.
During the main session titled ‘Dubai’s Model for Readiness, Proactivity, and Government Integration’, Secretary General Abdulla Mohammed Al Basti stressed the importance of trust especially in times of crisis, enabling more effective emergency management. The global community has recognized Dubai’s collaborative frameworks among governmental bodies for their efficiency and effectiveness in achieving tangible results.
The session also highlighted revisions to Dubai’s Government Communication Guide, which has adopted a structured protocol encompassing strategic communication, media relations, and corporate roles. This guide ensures that all governmental communication, including social media outputs and creative initiatives, aligns with the Dubai Plan 2033, enhancing operational synergy.
Assistant Secretary General Sabah Salem Al Shamsi remarked on the guide launched under Executive Council Decision No. (47) of 2025, emphasizing its role in standardizing practices and enhancing collaboration while fostering innovative communication efforts. Additionally, Director Budoor Ali spoke about the importance of proactive engagement, illustrating how the GNGC’s strategies bolster public awareness and trust throughout the city.
The meeting showcased key initiatives such as the City Makers program, which harmonizes services across sectors including education, health, and community development. Programs like Jabr are designed to ease burdens for bereaved families, serving as a singular point of contact across 22 governmental entities to expedite all necessary arrangements with sensitivity.
Dubai’s innovative approach illustrates how streamlined communication and service integration can yield practical benefits, enhance public trust, and elevate the city's global reputation, always placing residents’ needs at the forefront of government endeavors.
