Post by : Bianca Haleem

Dubai is advancing its digital transformation with the unveiling of the third iteration of the ‘Create Apps Championship’. This initiative is part of the Create Apps in Dubai program and builds upon the achievements of its predecessors, which received over 5,800 applications and launched more than 55 smart applications.

The championship's goal is to seek out, nurture, and accelerate talented innovators, creating a nexus where technology converges with creativity. This year's edition adds fresh features and funding that look set to elevate the experience.

New Features and Funding Opportunities

A notable addition is the ‘Longevity App of the Year’ award, which acknowledges applications focused on enhancing health, wellness, and lifestyle through innovative technology. This aligns with the UAE's larger vision of fostering a sustainable and future-ready society.

Furthermore, the championship introduces the Alumni Accelerator Programme aimed at aiding promising teams in refining their concepts and launching fully developed applications. Participants will benefit from mentorship, training, and a dedicated hub to expedite their projects.

Competition Categories and Funding Breakdown

The competition will feature four primary categories:

  • Best Youth App

  • Most Impactful App

  • Most Innovative App

  • Longevity App of the Year

Overall, funding packages exceed AED 2.5 million, with winners from three categories set to receive over AED 550,000 each to actualize and launch their apps. Additionally, the overall ‘App of the Year’ winner, chosen by public voting, will be awarded AED 1 million to bring their concept to market.

Propelling Dubai's Digital Future

Dubai is enhancing its reputation as a global center for digital innovation. With cutting-edge infrastructure, flexible legal frameworks, and a nurturing business ecosystem, the emirate is cultivating a landscape ripe for talent and innovation.

The Create Apps Championship is open for registrations, offering an incredible opportunity for innovators globally to transform their ideas into meaningful digital solutions.
