Dubai: The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has revealed its impressive results for 2025, showcasing a remarkable increase in global events and international participant numbers. This accomplishment further cements Dubai's role as a premier global destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE).
In total, DWTC hosted 401 events throughout the year, representing a 6% rise, while overall attendance soared to 2.97 million, reflecting a 12% year-on-year growth. Events took place at both the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre as well as the Dubai Exhibition Centre.
Significant Progress in the MICE Sector
DWTC organized 134 MICE events that together drew 2.19 million individuals, an 8% increase noted from the previous year. International presence remained robust, with 951,000 global attendees comprising 43% of the total turnout.
The number of exhibiting companies surpassed 63,000, with an impressive 78% being international firms, showcasing Dubai's increasing allure for global businesses and investors.
Flagship Events Propel Numbers
The Centre’s 14 flagship events together attracted nearly 630,000 visitors, marking a 7% increase, with approximately 41% of attendees hailing from overseas.
Significant events like Gulfood Manufacturing and GITEX Global experienced notable growth, jumping by 12% and 10% respectively. Additionally, DWTC expanded its global footprint, hosting events across Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Key Sectors Excelled in 2025
Several industries stood out:
Healthcare & Medical: 436,000 attendees (largest sector)
Technology (ICT): 341,000 attendees, an increase of 21%
Food & Beverage: 280,000 attendees
Retail & Consumer Goods: 117,000 attendees
Security & Safety: 105,000 attendees
Prominent exhibitions included World Health Expo, Intersec, and Arabian Travel Market, reflecting a wide-ranging and sector-specific events calendar.
Dubai Exhibition Centre Expansion
A significant achievement in 2025 was the completion of Phase 1 for the expansion of the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC), adding 140,000 sqm of event space. This venue hosted 36 events attracting 319,000 attendees, enhancing Dubai's potential for extensive international exhibitions.
Conferences and Global Engagement
DWTC facilitated 25 conferences, drawing in 62,000 participants, which included 11 brand-new events. Furthermore, 14 international association meetings attracted an additional 29,000 attendees, highlighting Dubai’s capability to host global professional gatherings.
Business Ecosystem Flourishing
The broader ecosystem of DWTC experienced significant growth as well:
Free Zone: 850 new businesses registered
Commercial spaces: Up to 97% occupancy rate
Residential properties: 96% occupancy rate
The organization also initiated new frameworks designed to bolster modern businesses and adaptable corporate structures.
