Eastern Region Secures SAR5 Billion in Deals at Cityscape Global 2025

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The Eastern Region Municipality has proudly finalized 14 crucial investment and development agreements at the Cityscape Global 2025 event in Riyadh, with the total projects valued at over SAR5 billion. These memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and contracts signify a key advancement in the municipality’s mission to attract investments and champion sustainable urban growth in the area.

Mayor Fahad Al-Jubeir presided over the agreement signings, which encompassed a variety of pioneering projects focused on fostering economic progress and enhancing technological frameworks. A significant highlight was a contract for establishing itinerant vendor incubator sites, designed to aid small businesses and entrepreneurs by offering modern facilities, technical assistance, and avenues to promote their products and services. These incubators are projected to invigorate economic activity, generate employment opportunities, and nurture a dynamic local economy.

Additionally, the municipality entered into a pivotal agreement with Digital Centers for Data and Telecommunications (center3), an arm of stc Group, to set up new digital data centers. These facilities are essential for driving digital transformation in the Eastern Region, supplying the necessary technical framework for the evolution of smart cities and tech-oriented public services. The initiative is expected to bolster data management, connectivity, and digital solutions, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives for innovation and intelligent urban development.

The 14 agreements span a wide array of investment sectors, illustrating the municipality’s strategic perspective on urban development and economic diversification. Included are collaborations focused on real estate ventures, digital infrastructures, commercial areas, and community services aimed at improving residents' quality of life. By appealing to local, Gulf, and international investors, the Eastern Region Municipality is reinforcing its role as a premier destination for innovation, investment, and sustainable development.

The Mayor reiterated that these agreements symbolize the municipality’s unwavering commitment to fostering modern urban infrastructure while boosting economic vitality in the Eastern Region. He emphasized that the initiatives will yield enduring benefits, including job generation, technological innovation, and enhanced investment opportunities for both local and global stakeholders.

Moreover, the Eastern Region Municipality emphasizes creating a nurturing environment for entrepreneurs, startups, and small enterprises, underscoring the vital role of incubators and innovative platforms in stimulating economic growth. By marrying modern digital infrastructure with traditional development schemes, the municipality intends to foster a well-rounded and sustainable urban ecosystem that caters to the needs of its expanding population.

In summary, the agreements finalized during Cityscape Global 2025 illustrate the Eastern Region Municipality’s active role in crafting a forward-thinking area that integrates smart city technology, economic expansion, and sustainable urban planning. These initiatives are anticipated to solidify the Eastern Region’s standing as a central hub for investment, innovation, and technological progress.
