Inaugural Emirates Falcon Racing Cup to Launch in Kuwait

Inaugural Emirates Falcon Racing Cup to Launch in Kuwait

Post by : Bianca Haleem

In a significant move under the guidance of UAE leadership, the first-ever Emirates Falcon Racing Cup is set to kick off this Thursday in Kuwait. Scheduled for 4 to 7 December, this championship will gather prominent falconers from across the region to elevate falcon racing onto the international stage.

This tournament is part of the UAE Falcons Federation’s comprehensive strategy to cultivate falconry as a globally recognized sport. As a founding member of the International Federation for Falconry Sports and Racing, the UAE aims to transition falconry from its traditional roots into a competitive, modern discipline.

Preparations have been finalised by the organizing teams, encompassing all essential technical and logistical stages. The championship regulations are available on official platforms, a digital registration app is set up for participants, and the complete schedule for the opening ceremony along with other activities has been confirmed.

The UAE Federation anticipates that this inaugural event in Kuwait will pave the way for future international iterations of the championship among member countries, adhering to established criteria. Participation from the host nation is highly encouraged, allowing Kuwaiti falconers an opportunity to compete on a prestigious platform while fueling the sport’s expanding reach.

The Emirates Falcon Racing Cup will feature seven races in the Farkh category, comprising four primary rounds, one Hur round, and one Shaheen round for farm-bred falcons. The event culminates with the Cup Race, showcasing the top five falcons from each main round vying for the title. Categories include Pure Jeer, Jeer–Shaheen, Qarmousha, and Jeer–Taba’, with a total prize fund of AED 500,000 awarded to winners.

With all logistical elements in place and robust support from Kuwait’s teams and committees, the championship is poised for a remarkable debut. The event is intended to boost the UAE’s role in fostering global falcon racing while honoring the sport's heritage for generations to come.
