After an 11-year pause from directing, filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan — whose filmography includes Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om and Tees Maar Khan — has moved into digital content with a new YouTube project.
She launched the channel in April 2024, posting cooking vlogs alongside her cook, Dilip. The show rapidly gained traction, approaching three million subscribers while her Instagram following climbed to about 4.5 million.
Appearing on the latest episode of Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle, Farah, 60, explained what prompted the shift. She said that when film projects stalled she decided to "give YouTube a try," noting practical reasons as well — her 17-year-old triplets Czar, Anya and Diva are due to start university next year and the costs are high. "I thought, for a lark let me start a show on YouTube, and it clicked," she said.
Farah also underlined her drive to keep working and the creative freedom the platform offers. She told the hosts that happiness must come from within and from one’s work, adding she could continue working into her 80s because her craft doesn’t depend on appearance.
The next episode of Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle, which also features actor Ananya Panday, is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video on Thursday at midnight.
