Dubai's low-cost airline flydubai is making a significant stride into long-haul travel by securing an order for 60 GEnx-1B engines from GE Aerospace. These engines will power the carrier's inaugural fleet of 30 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, highlighting a strategic move beyond its traditional 737 operations.
This announcement, made during the Dubai Airshow 2025, also encompasses spare engines and a comprehensive long-term services agreement, ensuring that flydubai can reliably extend its reach to new global destinations.
