Sheikh Mansour Award Pavilion Highlights Sustainable Agriculture at Festival

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

At the Sheikh Zayed Festival 2025-2026, the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Agricultural Excellence Award Pavilion maintains a vital presence, drawing visitors from all over the UAE. It serves as a focal point for activities that both entertain and educate, demonstrating sustainable agricultural practices while promoting local Emirati products. These initiatives support national objectives aimed at enhancing food security and fostering agricultural innovation.

The award seeks to bolster the UAE's agricultural landscape, aiding farmers, livestock breeders, and honey producers. By endorsing advanced farming methodologies and smart technologies, it aims to boost local production while ensuring resources are used sustainably—aligning with the UAE's long-term food security strategy.

This edition of the award features a total of 77 competitions spanning various agricultural and food sectors. Competitors include farmers, breeders, and honey producers, with a newly introduced category for youth. This addition signifies the pavilion's dedication to motivating the younger generation to engage in agriculture and inspire innovative future solutions.

Highlighted competitions include the Best Local Food Product, which assesses quality, packaging, and marketing; the Best Youth Agricultural Project that showcases inventive young initiatives; and Best Packaging Design, rewarding standout product presentations. Other contests aim to raise awareness and promote understanding of agriculture in the community, while children's competitions introduce younger participants to agricultural principles through interactive experiences.

The pavilion also holds contests related to traditional Emirati dishes and desserts, celebrating the UAE's rich culinary heritage. These events allow participants to demonstrate their cooking skills while highlighting local food culture.

In addition to the competitions, workshops and on-site consultations are organized. Experienced farmers and experts impart knowledge on smart farming techniques, sustainable water use, and methods to enhance plant and animal yields. A diverse range of local agricultural products are on display, emphasizing the quality and competitiveness of Emirati goods and fostering emerging national businesses.

This pavilion illustrates the UAE’s comprehensive strategy to promote its agricultural sector and boost its role in the national economy. By nurturing innovation, supporting local talent, and advocating for sustainable food production, the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Agricultural Excellence Award Pavilion plays a vital role in achieving food security in the UAE. It also raises public awareness about agriculture, engaging all age groups—especially the youth—to foster future development in this crucial sector.

Attendees at the pavilion will experience modern agricultural developments alongside rich cultural offerings, cementing the Sheikh Mansour Award Pavilion as a key venue for advocating sustainable farming, local produce, and Emirati traditions during the Sheikh Zayed Festival.
