Janhvi Kapoor Declares Physical Infidelity a Non-Negotiable

Post by : Meena Hassan

On a recent episode of Amazon Prime's Too Much, hosted by Twinkle Khanna and Kajol, Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor articulated her firm beliefs regarding infidelity. Faced with the question of whether emotional or physical cheating is more detrimental, she stated definitively that physical betrayal is a deal breaker for her. In contrast, some guests admitted they could potentially overlook such offenses.

While acknowledging that both types of cheating are unacceptable, Janhvi took issue with Twinkle Khanna's suggestion to dismiss it with the phrase, “Raat gayi, baat gayi.” She countered with a strong, “Baat nahi jaati,” underlining that betrayal cannot simply be overlooked.

The segment quickly gained traction on social media, with fans lauding Janhvi for her resolute position. One user commented, “Big respect to Janhvi for standing her ground… That mindset is so toxic; it shows how normalized cheating was for that generation.” Another remarked, “Janhvi is the only one with standards here. I’m glad she stood her ground.”

Experts have also weighed in on the physical vs. emotional cheating debate. Emotional Intelligence Coach Shivam noted, “Both are detrimental. Both can serve as breaking points in a relationship. Once the boundary is crossed—be it emotionally or physically—you’ve already chosen to deceive your partner and jeopardize their trust.”

Shivam points out that infidelity often follows a recurring pattern: “For women, it often starts with emotional connection leading to physical intimacy. For men, it typically begins with physical encounters and can evolve into emotional bonding.”

The motivations for cheating can vary. Women might cheat due to feelings of emotional neglect or inadequate communication, while men may initially be drawn by excitement. Nonetheless, Shivam stresses that infidelity, regardless of its form, points to a deeper issue—an absence of respect and trust, prioritizing one's desires over the relationship.

Regarding the possibility of healing relationships post-infidelity, Shivam cautiones, “Restoring trust is incredibly challenging once it's been breached. Often, cheating—whether emotional or physical—signals the dissolution of the relationship.”

As discussions continue online, Janhvi Kapoor's resolute perspective serves as a reminder to audiences that despite differing views on emotional vs. physical betrayal, trust remains essential to sustaining any enduring relationship.
