JOOD, the Dubai Community Contributions Establishment, has unveiled impressive figures for the first quarter of 2026, showcasing an upward trend in community participation and charitable giving across the city.
In Q1 2026, JOOD registered contributions surpassing AED 63 million, stemming from over 1,500 individual donations and 30 community initiatives. This uptick also reflects heightened user interaction and digital presence, illustrating the growing confidence the public has in its transparent philanthropic framework.
JOOD broadened its outreach across vital areas such as health, care, housing, and other aspects of social development, aiming to enrich the quality of life and social wellbeing within Dubai.
Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, the Director General of the Community Development Authority (CDA) and Chairperson of JOOD’s Board of Trustees, commented that the outcomes signify the evolution of Dubai’s charitable landscape and escalating faith in organized charitable activities.
She stated that the robust increase in contributions underscores a growing recognition of structured philanthropy and its vital role in fostering sustainable social growth. Furthermore, she emphasized JOOD’s commitment to enhancing its digital frameworks and partnerships, facilitating more impactful and aligned contributions with the community’s long-term needs.
Her Excellency also mentioned that JOOD aims to position Dubai as a leading example for sustainable community growth and effective philanthropy worldwide.
His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, and Vice Chairperson of JOOD’s Board of Trustees, noted that during the “Year of Family,” the emphasis is on endorsing initiatives that foster generosity, unity, and social harmony.
JOOD CEO His Excellency Marwan Rashid bin Hashim affirmed that the platform will persist in enhancing Dubai’s charitable ecosystem through cooperation with public and private entities. He added that JOOD aspires to roll out pioneering initiatives and stimulate greater involvement from the private sector for lasting impact.
Looking forward, JOOD will convene its next Board of Trustees meeting in Q2 2026 to assess Q1 outcomes and outline future objectives. Additionally, the platform plans to host a specialized philanthropy workshop with over 50 leaders from both government and private sectors to enhance dialogue and elevate sustainable giving strategies in Dubai.
