Saudi Arabia Hosts Joy Forum 2025 for Entertainment Industry

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The Joy Forum 2025, one of the world’s largest entertainment industry events, was launched on Thursday at Boulevard City in Riyadh. The opening was attended by General Entertainment Authority (GEA) Chairman Turki Alalshikh, highlighting the Kingdom’s rapid growth in entertainment.

Leadership Support Drives Sector Growth

Chairman Turki Alalshikh emphasized that the sector’s achievements are due to the support of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He highlighted that Saudi Vision 2030 has been a key driver behind the development of the entertainment sector.

Milestones in Saudi Entertainment

Alalshikh spotlighted upcoming milestones, including the first phase of the Qiddiya project, featuring Six Flags Qiddiya, set to open later this year. These projects represent the Kingdom’s ambition to become a leading global destination for entertainment and tourism.

Investment and Development Agreements

During the forum, the GEA chairman announced the signing of investment and development agreements worth more than SAR4 billion. These agreements will fund a variety of new entertainment projects and events across the Kingdom, further strengthening the industry’s infrastructure.

Achievements Under Vision 2030

Alalshikh noted that although Vision 2030 began in 2016, it has delivered significant achievements in transforming Saudi Arabia into a hub for international events and tourism. The Kingdom now ranks as the second-highest in tourism revenue in the region.

Cooperation with Tourism and Culture Ministries

The chairman praised strong collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, which has increased visitor numbers and tourism revenue. He also highlighted partnerships with the Ministry of Culture, supporting cultural events and creative initiatives that enhance Saudi Arabia’s global cultural presence.

Future of Entertainment in Saudi Arabia

The Joy Forum 2025 emphasized the Kingdom’s commitment to continuous growth in the entertainment sector. The forum showcased Saudi Arabia’s vision to combine culture, creativity, and investment, offering opportunities for international and local players in the entertainment industry.

Expanding Global Attraction

Through projects like Qiddiya and investment in entertainment infrastructure, Saudi Arabia aims to strengthen its position as a global hub for tourism, cultural events, and creative industries. The forum highlighted that the Kingdom is now one of the most attractive destinations for international visitors and entertainment investments.
