Kevin Spacey Set for Civil Assault Trials in London 2026

Post by : Meena Hassan

Kevin Spacey will confront new civil sexual assault claims in London next year, following his earlier exoneration from criminal charges.

Three men have initiated lawsuits against the 66-year-old actor, claiming assaults occurred between 2000 and 2013 during his tenure as artistic director at the Old Vic theatre. A judge has proposed October 12, 2026, as a tentative date for the trial, although it is still uncertain whether the cases will be merged or heard individually.

Spacey firmly denies all allegations. Two of the claimants participated in his earlier criminal trial, which concluded with an acquittal. One claims to have suffered repeated assaults from 2000 to 2005, another alleges psychological and financial damages from an incident in 2008, while the third, actor Ruari Cannon, states he was groped at a theatre event in 2013. Cannon is also pursuing a lawsuit against the Old Vic theatre.

In a recent public statement, Spacey discussed the financial strain of his ongoing legal issues, revealing he has been living in temporary housing while continuing his professional work. He clarified that he does not consider himself homeless in the typical sense and expressed appreciation for those who have shown support for those in real need.
