All's Fair: Kim Kardashian Series Meets Critical Backlash and Low Early Scores

All's Fair: Kim Kardashian Series Meets Critical Backlash and Low Early Scores

Post by : Meena Hassan

Kim Kardashian’s move into scripted television with the legal drama All’s Fair drew largely negative assessments after its November 4 streaming premiere.

Co-created by Ryan Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken, the series follows a team of female divorce lawyers who launch their own Los Angeles practice. Despite a high-profile cast including Sarah Paulson, Glenn Close, Niecy Nash, Naomi Watts and Teyana Taylor, the show has failed to win favour with many critics and viewers.

All’s Fair registered a low 6% on Rotten Tomatoes from 18 reviews, reflecting widespread disappointment. Reviews noted the show’s reliance on spectacle over substance, criticised what one critic described as a shift from Murphy’s earlier strengths into contemptuous snark, and questioned Kardashian’s acting as lacking range and emotional depth. Other assessments targeted the series’ writing and suggested the costume-driven presentation overshadowed meaningful storytelling.

Audience reaction on social media largely mirrored critical views, with users pointing to weak scripting and thin characterisation alongside comments about the lead performance. Several posts called out an uneven tone and a lack of authenticity, while some viewers defended the series as intentionally campy and entertaining despite its flaws.

All’s Fair is Kardashian’s second project with Ryan Murphy after her role in American Horror Story Season 12: Delicate, underscoring the ongoing challenge of moving from reality television into scripted roles.

Although the show’s celebrity ensemble and glossy presentation may attract viewers, the prevailing critical consensus highlights shortcomings in plotting, character development and performance.

Whether audiences will continue watching for spectacle or dismiss the series for its creative weaknesses remains uncertain as reviews and viewer reaction continue to unfold.
