Family representatives confirm he died peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones after suffering a recent fall. In a touching statement, Frehley’s family shared, "We are heartbroken over the loss of Ace Frehley. In his last moments, we were grateful to be with him in love and comfort." Frehley’s influence went beyond KISS, having shaped the careers of countless rock guitarists with his unique style and charisma.
Frehley co-founded KISS in 1973 alongside Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and Peter Criss. The group quickly gained recognition for their extravagant makeup, Kabuki-inspired costumes, and electrifying performances, transforming Frehley into a pivotal figure in establishing KISS’s enduring image. Hits like “I Was Made for Lovin’ You,” “God of Thunder,” and “Strutter” highlighted Frehley’s exceptional guitar skills and stage presence, solidifying his place in the annals of rock history.
After departing KISS in 1982 amidst personal challenges and creative differences, Frehley continued to write music both as a solo artist and with his band Frehley’s Comet. He released numerous albums and remained a beloved figure among music aficionados. In the mid-1990s, Frehley reunited with KISS for a six-year stretch, asserting once more the enduring power of his talent and stage charisma.
Survived by his wife Jeanette and daughter Monique, Frehley has seen an outpouring of tributes worldwide, celebrating his influence and legacy.
