Kuwait Customs Foils Attempt to Smuggle Ration Food to Egypt

Post by : Bianca Haleem

KUWAIT CITY, August 12: Kuwait’s General Administration of Customs has stopped an attempt to illegally transport large quantities of subsidized ration food supplies out of the country.

The attempted smuggling operation involved several trucks traveling to Egypt. Customs inspectors from the Sulaibiya Customs Department uncovered the suspected violation during routine inspections of cargo vehicles.

Large Quantities of Food Found in Trucks

Customs officers became suspicious of several trucks and carried out detailed searches. During the inspections, they found large quantities of assorted food products inside the vehicles.

The goods were seized by customs authorities, and legal action was taken against those involved in the attempted smuggling operation.

Violators to Face Further Legal Procedures

The individuals responsible will be referred to the competent authorities for further investigation and completion of the required legal procedures, according to Kuwait’s General Administration of Customs.

The seizure highlights the customs authority’s continued efforts to prevent the illegal movement of restricted goods and maintain tighter control over cargo passing through Kuwait’s customs ports.

Kuwait Customs Strengthens Cargo Monitoring

The General Administration of Customs said its inspectors will continue to monitor cargo movements and take legal action against violations of customs regulations.

The authority also stressed that these measures are aimed at protecting Kuwait’s resources and supporting the country’s economic security.
