The State of Kuwait is celebrating its 65th National Day, following a landmark year in 2025 that reflected the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, for a prosperous future.
Kuwait’s progress is built on strong economic foundations, humanitarian leadership, and growing international recognition. A new report, “State of Kuwait: Deep-Rooted Foundations and Steps Toward the Future,” by the Statistical Centre for the Cooperation Council for the Arab Countries of the Gulf, highlights major financial achievements.
The country recorded financial and investment surpluses, with sovereign wealth fund assets exceeding $1 trillion and banking sector assets above 100 billion Kuwaiti dinars. The Kuwait C posted gains of more than 9.6 billion dinars, reinforcing investor confidence. Kuwait also ranked 19th globally in the National Brand Value Index, with its brand value equal to nearly 9% of GDP, among the highest worldwide.
In innovation, Kuwait entered the world’s top 10 in the Global Innovation Index 2025, thanks to advances in digital infrastructure, 5G technology, mobile internet speed, government digitalisation, and digital workforce efficiency. The country maintained high sovereign credit ratings with a stable outlook, strengthening its global economic position.
2025 saw several historic achievements in Kuwait, including the longest-distance transcontinental robotic surgery, the highest daily gas production in 90 years at the Jaza Offshore Field, and major archaeological discoveries on Failaka Island. The country also made progress in civil aviation safety and public health laboratories according to international standards.
Kuwait continued its global humanitarian role, actively engaging in international relief efforts. Diplomatically, it achieved its first United Nations resolution in innovation-related fields.
As a cornerstone member of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Kuwait celebrated 45 years of membership and highlighted its role in hosting eight GCC summits. These summits contributed to regional economic integration, including steps toward a common market, financial coordination, unified environmental and logistics systems, and broader Arab economic cooperation.
Kuwait’s 65th National Day reflects a nation advancing steadily into the future, combining strong economic growth, innovation, and international leadership.
