10th Dubai Knowledge Summit Unveils Vision for Sustainable Growth

Post by : Bianca Haleem

The 10th Dubai Knowledge Summit was inaugurated under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, highlighting a significant leap for this influential platform focused on sustainable development and knowledge enhancement. Organized by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme, this prestigious event takes place at the Dubai World Trade Centre and continues until November 20.

Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum opened the summit, reflecting on a decade's journey whereby the summit has transformed into a global nexus for experts, researchers, and decision-makers. She expressed her pride in the summit's evolution into a dynamic forum that fosters impactful dialogue, nurtures forward-thinking ideas, and affirms Dubai's status as a pivotal center for innovation and knowledge exchange.

This year's summit centers around the theme “Knowledge Markets: Developing Sustainable Communities,” examining how the flow of ideas, data, and innovation can translate into developmental benefits. Sessions throughout the day have delved into how knowledge serves as a catalyst for diversified economies, enhances technology integration, and uplifts communities amidst rapid global changes.

During the opening, the Global Knowledge Index 2025 was revealed, showcasing Switzerland at the top of the list, followed closely by Singapore and Sweden. The UAE also maintained its leading position in the Arab world ahead of countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The index has been updated with refined methodologies, new sub-indicators, and adjusted statistical weightings to ensure a more precise depiction of countries' readiness to cultivate knowledge-driven economies.

On the summit's first day, a comprehensive program of panel discussions, expert talks, and engaging workshops addressed key subjects such as the evolution of knowledge markets, sustainability, education, innovation, digital transformation, and the pivotal role of partnerships in establishing robust knowledge ecosystems. Participants from across the globe evaluated how collaborative thinking and knowledge exchange can guide societies through accelerating global transformations while paving new avenues for sustainable advancement.

The 10th edition of the summit stands as both a tribute to past accomplishments and a commitment to forging communities equipped for the future and reinforcing the global push for knowledge-driven development.
