Madhuri Dixit criticised after nearly three-hour delay at Canada event

Post by : Meena Hassan

Bollywood star Madhuri Dixit has come under criticism following reports that she arrived almost three hours late for a scheduled engagement on her Canada tour, prompting frustration from hundreds of attendees and a wave of social media complaints about the event’s management and transparency.

Promotional material listed a 7:30 pm start, but multiple audience members say the programme did not begin until around 10 pm. Clips shared online show Dixit on stage for a short period, with on-screen text reading, “If I could give you one piece of advice, it’s to not attend the Madhuri Dixit tour... save your money.”

Some spectators labelled the evening “a waste of time” and “poorly organised,” while others left mid-event demanding refunds. One attendee wrote, “This was the worst show ever. So unorganised. Advertisement didn’t say she was just going to chat and dance 2 seconds of each song.”

Another fan posted, “Three hours late and then full of lame talks. Least worried about the audience’s time,” echoing widespread complaints that the ticket description misrepresented the length and nature of the performance.

At the same time, a portion of the audience defended Dixit, suggesting the shortcomings were down to production and event management rather than the performer. “She seems to be performing as graciously as always! It may be a production issue,” one supporter commented.

Several attendees have recommended filing complaints with local consumer authorities over alleged misrepresentation. To date, neither Madhuri Dixit nor her representatives have issued an official response on the matter.
