Madhuri Dixit Discusses Her Love Journey With Dr. Shriram Nene

Post by : Raina Al-Fahim

Madhuri Dixit, renowned Indian actress, recently shared her heartfelt love journey with her husband, Dr. Shriram Nene, on a popular podcast hosted by Ranveer Allahabadia. She offered fans a rare insight into how their romance developed over the years. While friends attempted to set her up with various prospects, Madhuri was primarily focused on her flourishing career, carefully selecting whom she wanted to have in her life. “My friends would often try to play matchmaker, but I was deeply invested in my career. I believed that choosing the wrong partner could derail my joy in life. I never envisioned a fairy tale,” she shared, emphasizing her practical approach to love.

Even with her friends’ matchmaking efforts, it was Dr. Shriram Nene who captured her attention, leading to a genuine and profound connection. Celebrated since their wedding on October 17, 1999, they have balanced family life with their professional endeavors while raising two sons, Arin and Ryan. Madhuri attributes the resilience of their partnership to shared respect, encouragement, and a commitment to positivity. She described their relationship as a harmonious blend of creativity and analytical thinking, united by their shared passion for promoting health and wellness. “Finding such a romantic partner is a blessing. Mutual respect and support create a nurturing environment. Our relationship thrives where our interests in well-being meet,” she explained.

Madhuri fondly recounted Dr. Nene’s unwavering support for her creative projects, particularly during the COVID lockdown when he took the initiative to help her shoot her music video, 'Candle', mastering camera skills to ensure its success. She praised his attributes, citing his intelligence, compassion, and attention to his patients. “His dedication to his patients and his amazing bedside manner showcase his caring nature. He is well-read, intelligent, and even loves photography. We consider each other as the greatest blessings in our lives, and I find him to be a bigger blessing than my career,” she stated, accentuating her personal fulfillment beyond professional triumphs.

Madhuri's love story with Dr. Nene began in a modern context rather than through an arranged marriage. Although her brother facilitated their introductions, they chose to date for six months before agreeing to tie the knot. Post-wedding, they moved to the U.S., cherishing a family-oriented existence away from the limelight. The couple welcomed their sons in 2003 and 2005 and returned to Mumbai in 2011, where Madhuri resumed her career in cinema and television. They have successfully managed to navigate professional commitments while staying deeply tethered to family values, exemplifying a partnership rich in trust and mutual admiration.

On the professional front, Madhuri is set to make a compelling return with her role in 'Mrs. Deshpande', a psychological thriller directed by Nagesh Kukunoor. In this new series, she steps into the shoes of a convicted serial killer serving a 25-year sentence, who is unexpectedly approached by the police for help in capturing a copycat killer. This show is an Indian adaptation of the French thriller 'La Mante', infusing suspense, psychological depth, and moral complexities. The series will launch on JioHotstar on December 19, 2025, marking an exhilarating new phase in Madhuri’s career.

Through her interview, Madhuri not only recounted the essence of her beloved marriage but also provided valuable insights regarding the significance of finding a partner with whom one deeply connects on multiple levels, demonstrating that true love and a thriving career can indeed coexist.
