MBRF to Showcase Knowledge Initiatives at London Book Fair

Post by : Bianca Haleem

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) is set to participate in the upcoming London Book Fair 2026, one of the world’s leading events for the publishing and knowledge industries, scheduled to take place from March 10 to 12 at Olympia London.

MBRF’s participation reflects its ongoing commitment to strengthening its global presence and expanding strategic partnerships with major international institutions involved in knowledge creation, publishing, and intellectual development.

Through its presence at the event, the foundation aims to highlight its role in advancing the global knowledge ecosystem by promoting the production, sharing, and dissemination of knowledge. The initiative also aligns with the vision of the United Arab Emirates to position itself as a leading international hub for knowledge exchange, research, and intellectual collaboration.

Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of the foundation, said the organization is pleased to continue participating in one of the world’s most influential forums dedicated to publishing and intellectual dialogue. He noted that the event has long served as a meeting point for writers, scholars, publishers, and readers from across the globe.

According to Huwaireb, MBRF’s participation this year reflects its broader efforts to strengthen the UAE’s presence on the global knowledge map while highlighting the country’s contributions to intellectual development, creativity, and cultural progress.

During the fair, the foundation will present a range of its flagship initiatives and knowledge-driven projects designed to encourage research, nurture talent, and support the creation of high-quality intellectual content. Among the programmes being showcased are the Dubai International Programme for Writing, KnowTalks, and the Future Skills Academy. These initiatives focus on equipping individuals with advanced skills, encouraging creativity, and fostering innovation across different fields of knowledge.

MBRF will also highlight its ongoing efforts to develop international knowledge indices and implement programmes aimed at building resilient and sustainable knowledge societies worldwide.

As part of the foundation’s participation, the Knowledge Lounge will host a series of interactive sessions featuring prominent writers and cultural figures. These sessions include “The Arabic Book through Foreign Eyes” with publisher Haitham Hussein, “Poetry and the Nostalgia of Language” with poet Faie Nasser, and “Writing Away from Home” with novelist Hamdan Damaj. Another session will explore the role and growing influence of Arabic book clubs in the United Kingdom.

In addition, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award will host a panel discussion titled “Giving Knowledge a Global Impact.” The session will feature insights from award recipient Dr. David M Clark alongside Professor Nick Rawlins, a member of the award’s advisory board, as they discuss the role of knowledge initiatives in driving global development.

The London Book Fair offers an important platform for MBRF to engage with international publishing houses, universities, research centres, and organisations involved in content creation and knowledge dissemination. The event also provides an opportunity to explore new collaborations, exchange expertise, and develop initiatives that support the growth of the knowledge sector both regionally and globally.
