MedLab Training Institute has inaugurated an advanced surgical training centre at Dubai Science Park, a premier hub for science and innovation, under the TECOM Group.
This new facility aims to address the rising demand for hands-on clinical training among healthcare professionals throughout the Middle East. Targeting cadaveric and simulation-based surgical learning, the initiative supports doctors and specialists in honing their procedural abilities and advanced surgical strategies.
The centre is projected to train approximately 1,000 to 1,500 healthcare professionals annually, encompassing consultants, specialists, and emerging medical practitioners. Training sessions will feature international faculty, regional experts, and industry collaborators, offering participants insight into diverse surgical techniques and contemporary clinical practices.
The teaching team comprises consultant surgeons and specialists with impressive academic and clinical credentials, often affiliated with esteemed hospitals and universities in Europe, North America, and the Middle East.
Facilities include cadaveric labs, modern audiovisual setups for live demonstrations, and dedicated spaces tailored for immersive educational experiences. Cadaveric training enables healthcare workers to practice on authentic human anatomy in a safe environment, improving precision, confidence, and patient care outcomes.
Training programs comply with relevant regulatory and accreditation standards, with the majority of courses spanning one to three days and intensive hands-on modules approaching eight hours each day.
Specialised training encompasses various medical disciplines, including orthopaedics, spine surgery, sports surgery, maxillofacial procedures, and reconstructive surgery.
Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi remarked that this facility fortifies the UAE's healthcare and life sciences framework by introducing sophisticated surgical training capabilities. He emphasized that this initiative enhances clinical skills and patient care, aligning with the UAE's future development objectives, including the "We the UAE 2031" vision and Dubai Economic Agenda "D33".
Dr. Bilal El-Yafawi noted that MedLab aims to progress surgical education through practical, experience-based learning reflecting authentic clinical scenarios. He stated that the new centre will facilitate the ongoing advancement of healthcare professionals across the region.
MedLab envisions expanding its training offerings and nurturing partnerships with healthcare entities and industry leaders over the next few years, aspiring to enhance participant numbers and establish the centre as a major regional hub for elevated surgical education.
Dubai Science Park is an integral part of TECOM Group's specialized business landscape, which includes Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Dubai Knowledge Park, and Dubai Industrial City.
