First Lady Melania Trump has introduced the 2025 Christmas decorations at the White House under the theme “Home is Where the Heart Is.” Though she frequently resides in New York and Florida, Melania underlined that the essence of home lies in the warmth and affection one carries with them, transcending mere bricks and mortar.
This year's display is notably smaller due to the ongoing renovation of the East Wing into a new $300 million ballroom initiated by President Donald Trump. Despite the curtailed space, the decorations shine with over 50 Christmas trees, thousands of decorative butterflies, a grand gingerbread rendition of the White House, and a remarkable LEGO portrait of the 79-year-old president.
Highlighting the holiday season is an 18-foot concolor fir from Michigan, adorned with golden stars that pay tribute to the families of fallen US service members. This year's design also incorporates red, white, and blue elements in honor of the upcoming 250th anniversary of American independence, as well as special ornaments promoting Melania's “Be Best” initiative focused on children's education and wellness.
With the East Wing unavailable, the festive decorations are primarily showcased in the mansion at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, allowing guests attending seasonal events to revel in the holiday spirit throughout the main halls and rooms.
In a light-hearted remark during a Christmas party, President Trump said, “We have a little more than three years left, and three years for Trump is an eternity.” His second term is set to last until 2029, allowing the First Family extended time to indulge in their cherished holiday traditions in this historic residence.
This year's White House Christmas decor combines patriotic elements, personalized touches from the First Lady, and references to US history, ensuring a cherished holiday experience for visitors and the American public alike.
