UAE Set to Unveil MIITE 2026 in Abu Dhabi

Post by : Bianca Haleem

The Industrial Resilience and Supply Chain Continuity Forum was recently convened by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) in Abu Dhabi, just ahead of the fifth Make it in the Emirates 2026 (MIITE).

Scheduled for May 4-7, 2026, the significant industrial event will take place at the ADNEC Centre and is orchestrated by MoIAT in collaboration with ADNEC Group, the Ministry of Culture, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, and ADNOC.

Emphasis on Industrial Advancement

The forum gathered key stakeholders, including ministers and industry pioneers, to deliberate on reinforcing supply chains and enhancing industrial resilience. It underscored the UAE's strategy to upgrade its industrial sector and lessen import dependency.

Chairing the session, Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber emphasized that a robust domestic manufacturing sector is essential for national stability, asserting that reliance on imports diminishes resilience to global disruptions.

He further articulated that self-sufficiency demands actual production, a skilled workforce, and superior local products, stating the UAE's commitment to fulfilling needs in food, industry, and pharmaceuticals while engaging with global partners.

MIITE 2026: A Groundbreaking Edition

Officials revealed that MIITE 2026 will host:

  • 1,162 companies taking part (61% rise)

  • 88,000 sqm of exhibition space (30% growth)

  • 60% of exhibitors are SMEs

As noted by Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, UAE has doubled its industrial exports, achieving its 2031 goals six years early.

Over 4,800 products are identified for local production, opening avenues for investors and businesses. The event will also introduce innovative financing programs and industrial policies across 12 sectors.

Critical Discussions and Announcements

The forum targeted pressing industry issues, such as:

  • Supply chain disruptions

  • Access to raw materials

  • Business finance and cash flow

  • Export competitiveness

The session also built on discussions from the earlier Virtual Industrial Council.

Cultural and Innovative Contributions

Mubarak Al Nakhi noted the importance of culture in boosting economic development. The Ministry aims to showcase:

  • 50 Emirati crafts

  • 500+ local products

  • Engagement from 200 artisans

  • 23 interactive sessions

The pavilion will also present modern culinary interpretations inspired by Emirati heritage and collaborations with forward-looking technologies.

Impressive Industrial Achievements

Since Operation 300Bn was launched in 2021:

  • Industrial exports valued at AED 262 billion in 2025

  • High-tech exports reached AED 92 billion

  • AED 473 billion added to the economy through the ICV programme

  • 36 global trade agreements finalized

These accomplishments underline the UAE's strong position amid global trade challenges.

What to Anticipate at MIITE 2026

  • MIITE Awards celebrating industry excellence

  • Focus on women in the industry

New additions include:
