The Miss Universe Organisation (MUO) has shared a positive health update regarding Dr. Gabrielle Henry, representing Jamaica at Miss Universe 2025. She is reportedly recovering well and will soon return home while under comprehensive medical care.
Gabrielle experienced a troubling incident during the preliminary round on November 19, 2025, when she fell through a gap on stage, resulting in an intracranial haemorrhage, loss of consciousness, a fracture, and multiple facial lacerations.
Following the unfortunate event, Miss Haiti, Melissa Sapini, alleged that the MUO had suggested Gabrielle was at fault for the accident. The MUO has categorically refuted these claims, clarifying that Gabrielle is not to blame for what transpired. A combined statement from MUO and Gabrielle's family confirmed her ongoing specialized medical treatment and her upcoming transfer to a local hospital for further care.
The organization reiterated its commitment to Gabrielle by covering all medical expenses, as well as accommodation and living costs for her family during this challenging time in Thailand.
Gabrielle expressed her eagerness to return home, saying, "I am looking forward to going home and seeing everyone soon."
This incident adds to a series of notable and contentious moments at this year's Miss Universe pageant, shedding light on the challenges faced by contestants on stage.
