New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron will meet in Mumbai on Tuesday to review progress under the India–France Strategic Partnership and discuss key regional and global developments.
Prime Minister Modi will travel to Mumbai for the meeting with President Macron, who is on an official visit to India from February 17 to 19.
President Macron’s visit comes at the invitation of Prime Minister Modi to participate in the AI Impact Summit 2026, being hosted by India.
During the visit, the two leaders will also hold a bilateral summit in Mumbai. This is President Macron’s fourth visit to India and his first official engagement in Mumbai.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the bilateral talks will take place at Lok Bhavan in Mumbai at around 3:15 pm on Tuesday. The discussions will include a detailed review of the progress made under the India–France partnership.
The leaders are expected to focus on strengthening strategic cooperation and expanding collaboration into emerging and future-oriented sectors. They will also exchange views on important regional and global issues.
Later in the day, at around 5:15 pm, Prime Minister Modi and President Macron will jointly inaugurate the India–France Year of Innovation 2026. They will also address an audience including business leaders, start-up founders, researchers, and innovators from both countries.
Meanwhile, several global leaders are expected to attend the India–AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi. These include Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The Ministry of External Affairs said the summit is based on three guiding themes, called ‘Sutras’ — People, Planet, and Progress — which represent India’s approach to international cooperation in Artificial Intelligence.
